Imagine beginning your Moroccan adventure beside the Atlantic Ocean, wandering through ancient Roman ruins, crossing the Atlas Mountains, sleeping beneath the Sahara stars, and finally arriving in Marrakech through the red-earth landscapes of southern Morocco.
This 5-day tour from Casablanca takes you through some of Morocco’s most remarkable landscapes and historic cities. From the modern energy of Casablanca to the golden dunes of Merzouga and the ancient walls of Ait Ben Haddou, every day reveals a different side of the country.
Your tour from Casablanca begins when we meet you at Casablanca Airport or your accommodation. Once you are settled in, it is time to discover Morocco’s largest city and economic capital.
Your first major stop is the magnificent Hassan II Mosque, rising dramatically beside the Atlantic Ocean. Its detailed architecture, enormous prayer hall, and oceanfront setting make it one of the most memorable landmarks of Casablanca.
After some time for lunch, continue toward the Corniche, where Casablanca’s modern atmosphere meets the Atlantic. Take a relaxed walk along the coastline, enjoy the sea breeze, and watch the city move around you.
As evening approaches, settle into your comfortable Casablanca hotel and prepare for the adventure ahead.
Overnight in Casablanca.
After breakfast, leave Casablanca behind and travel toward the historic heart of Morocco.
Your first stop is Volubilis, where ancient Roman ruins stretch across the countryside. Walk between weathered columns, impressive arches, and beautifully preserved mosaics while imagining the life that once filled this remarkable settlement.
From Volubilis, continue to Meknes, one of Morocco’s historic imperial cities. The city’s monumental Bab Mansour, former royal stables, Sahrij Souani basin, and Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail reveal the power and ambition of Sultan Moulay Ismail.
After exploring Meknes and enjoying lunch, continue toward Fes.
By the time you arrive, the atmosphere changes completely. The narrow streets, traditional architecture, and ancient medina create a feeling of stepping into another era. Check into your traditional riad and enjoy a peaceful evening in the spiritual capital of Morocco.
Overnight in Fes.
Today, your Morocco tour from Casablanca takes a dramatic turn as you leave the cities behind and head toward the Sahara.
The road climbs into the Middle Atlas Mountains, leading you to Ifrane, a charming mountain town known for its alpine-style architecture, green spaces, and cool climate. Its unusual appearance has earned it the nickname “Switzerland of Morocco.”
Continue toward the Cedar Forest of Azrou, where ancient cedar trees create a peaceful mountain landscape. Keep your eyes open for the Barbary macaques that live among the forest.
After lunch in Midelt, the scenery begins to change. Mountain landscapes give way to rocky valleys and vast desert horizons as you cross the Tizi n’Tilghmt Pass and follow the spectacular Ziz Valley.
Stop at a panoramic viewpoint to admire the contrast between the green palm groves and the surrounding desert mountains.
By late afternoon, you reach Merzouga, the gateway to the Sahara Desert.
Here, the experience becomes unforgettable.
Leave the vehicle behind and climb onto your camel for a ride across the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi. As the sun begins to disappear, climb a high dune and watch the desert turn into shades of gold and orange.
Your camel ride then continues toward your luxury desert camp.
Tonight, enjoy a traditional Moroccan dinner around the campfire, listen to local music, and look up at a sky filled with stars.
Overnight in a luxury desert camp.
Wake early and experience one of the Sahara’s most beautiful moments: sunrise over the dunes.
As the first light reaches the desert, the golden landscape slowly comes alive. After breakfast at camp, return to Merzouga by camel or 4×4 and continue your 5-day Morocco itinerary from Casablanca toward the dramatic landscapes of the south.
Your first stop is Rissani, an important historic trading center and former capital of Tafilalet. Explore its traditional souk and discover a more authentic side of southern Moroccan life.
Continue to Erfoud, famous for its fossils and stone workshops, before traveling through palm-filled villages such as Touroug and Tinjdad.
Then the landscape suddenly becomes more dramatic as you reach Todra Gorge.
Towering canyon walls rise on both sides of the river, creating one of Morocco’s most impressive natural landscapes. Take some time to walk through the gorge, enjoy lunch nearby, and absorb the peaceful atmosphere.
In the afternoon, continue toward the Dades Valley, where winding roads, red cliffs, and unusual rock formations create a completely different landscape.
Stop at the famous Monkey Fingers formations and enjoy panoramic views across the valley before settling into your hotel or riad for the evening.
Dinner and overnight in Dades Valley.
Your final day begins with a journey through some of southern Morocco’s most beautiful landscapes.
Travel through Kalaat M’Gouna, known as the Rose Valley, where roses have become an important part of local life and traditional Moroccan products.
Continue toward Skoura, passing through vast palm groves and discovering the distinctive kasbahs scattered throughout the oasis.
Your next stop is Ouarzazate, often called the gateway to the Sahara and a famous destination for cinema lovers. If time allows, you can visit one of the city’s film studios, where numerous international productions have been filmed.
From Ouarzazate, the road continues toward one of Morocco’s most recognizable landmarks: Ait Ben Haddou.
This ancient UNESCO World Heritage Site rises from the landscape like a scene from another time. Walk through its narrow alleys, climb between its earthen buildings, and discover the history of the old caravan route that once connected the Sahara with the cities of Morocco.
The kasbah has also appeared in famous productions including Gladiator, The Mummy, and Game of Thrones.
From Ait Ben Haddou, continue across the High Atlas landscapes toward Marrakech.
As the red city comes into view, your tour from Casablanca comes to an end. After five days of changing landscapes, ancient cities, mountain roads, desert nights, and unforgettable encounters, you will arrive in Marrakech for drop-off at your accommodation or the airport.
