Experience Morocco from the Atlantic coast to the golden Sahara on this unforgettable Agadir Desert Tour. Over 10 days, travel through colorful imperial cities, peaceful mountain towns, ancient medinas, dramatic valleys, and the vast dunes of Merzouga.
Starting and ending in Agadir, this private journey takes you to Marrakech, Casablanca, Rabat, Chefchaouen, Fes, the Middle Atlas Mountains, Merzouga, Todra Gorge, Ouarzazate, and Ait Ben Haddou. Along the way, discover Morocco through its people, landscapes, traditions, food, architecture, and changing scenery.
From walking through the blue lanes of Chefchaouen to riding a camel across Erg Chebbi at sunset, every day reveals a different side of Morocco.
Your Agadir Desert Tour begins the moment you arrive at Agadir Airport, where your private driver will be waiting to welcome you to Morocco.
After your transfer to your riad or hotel, the rest of the day is yours to relax after your journey. Depending on your arrival time, you can take your first walk along Agadir’s Atlantic seafront, enjoy the ocean breeze, or explore a nearby local market.
As evening arrives, settle into the relaxed rhythm of Morocco and prepare for the adventure ahead.
Overnight in Agadir.
After breakfast, leave Agadir behind and travel toward one of Morocco’s most exciting destinations: Marrakech.
The road takes you through the landscapes of the Souss region and toward the foothills of the Atlas Mountains. Small villages and changing scenery provide your first glimpse of Morocco beyond the coast.
Once in Marrakech, meet your local guide and step inside the historic Medina. Wander through colorful souks, hidden alleyways, traditional workshops, beautiful courtyards, and centuries-old monuments.
As the afternoon turns into evening, arrive at the legendary Jemaa El-Fna square. Food stalls begin to glow, musicians fill the air with sound, and storytellers and performers transform the square into one of Morocco’s liveliest scenes.
Overnight in Marrakech.
Today, your journey turns north toward Casablanca.
Here, visit the magnificent Hassan II Mosque, dramatically positioned beside the Atlantic Ocean. Its towering minaret, intricate tilework, carved details, and oceanfront setting make it one of Morocco’s most recognizable landmarks.
Continue along the coast to Rabat, Morocco’s capital.
Discover the historic Kasbah of the Udayas, admire Hassan Tower, and explore some of the city’s important historical landmarks. Compared with the energy of Marrakech and Casablanca, Rabat offers a calmer atmosphere where historic architecture meets modern Moroccan life.
Spend the evening relaxing in your riad or hotel.
Overnight in Rabat.
After breakfast, leave the Atlantic coast and travel north toward the Rif Mountains.
As the road climbs through green hills and rural landscapes, the scenery gradually changes until you reach Chefchaouen, Morocco’s famous Blue City.
Step into its peaceful Medina, where narrow streets, blue-painted walls, flower-filled doorways, and small artisan shops create a completely different atmosphere from Morocco’s larger cities.
Walk through Uta El-Hammam Square, discover the Kasbah, and continue toward Ras El Maa, where fresh mountain water flows beside the old town.
The evening is yours to enjoy Chefchaouen at a slower pace as the crowds disappear and the blue streets become peaceful.
Overnight in Chefchaouen.
Say goodbye to Chefchaouen and travel south toward one of Morocco’s most important archaeological treasures: Volubilis.
Walk among ancient Roman columns, arches, mosaics, and ruins that tell stories from nearly two thousand years ago. From here, continue through the countryside toward Meknes, one of Morocco’s four imperial cities.
Explore some of Meknes’ historic landmarks before continuing to Fes.
By evening, enter the atmosphere of Morocco’s spiritual and cultural capital. Your traditional riad offers the perfect place to rest before exploring the ancient Medina the following morning.
Overnight in Fes.
Today, explore the timeless charm of Fes alongside an experienced local guide.
Enter Fes el-Bali, where thousands of narrow streets form one of the world’s most fascinating historic medinas. Around every corner, another scene appears: artisans hammering copper, colorful spices filling market stalls, craftsmen working with leather, and traditional bakeries serving local neighborhoods.
Discover landmarks such as Bou Inania Madrasa, Al-Qarawiyyin, Nejjarine Fountain, traditional souks, and artisan quarters while learning about the history and daily life of this remarkable city.
Later, enjoy a panoramic viewpoint overlooking the Medina. From above, the maze of rooftops, minarets, and ancient walls reveals the incredible scale of Fes.
Overnight in Fes.
Today, your desert tour from Agadir finally leads you toward the Sahara.
Leave Fes in the morning and climb into the Middle Atlas Mountains. Your first stop is Ifrane, known for its clean streets, alpine-inspired architecture, and cool mountain climate.
Continue toward the cedar forests near Azrou, where Barbary macaques can often be seen among the trees.
The landscape becomes increasingly dramatic as you travel south through Midelt and cross mountain passes toward the Ziz Valley. Stop at a panoramic viewpoint to admire the enormous palm-filled valley stretching between rocky cliffs.
Continue through Erfoud and toward Merzouga.
Then, suddenly, the landscape changes.
The golden dunes of Erg Chebbi rise from the horizon.
Meet your camel caravan and travel across the Sahara as the late-afternoon sunlight changes the dunes from gold to orange.
Reach your desert camp in time to experience sunset among the dunes. After dinner, gather around the campfire for traditional music before looking up at a sky filled with stars.
Overnight in a private desert camp in Merzouga.
Wake before breakfast for one of the most peaceful moments of your Agadir Sahara Desert Tour: sunrise over Erg Chebbi.
Watch the first light slowly spread across the dunes before returning to camp for breakfast.
Today reveals a deeper side of the Sahara, where local culture, traditions, and desert life go far beyond the golden dunes.
Travel around the Merzouga region to meet local communities and discover remote desert landscapes. Visit Khamlia village and experience traditional Gnawa music, whose rhythms reflect generations of cultural heritage.
Continue exploring the surrounding desert, stopping at panoramic locations and discovering how local families have adapted to life in this extraordinary environment.
Later, make your way back to the dunes as the setting sun paints the Sahara in warm golden colors.
As darkness falls, enjoy dinner and a quiet evening beneath the desert sky.
Overnight in Merzouga.
After breakfast, leave the Sahara and begin traveling west through Morocco’s southern landscapes.
Pause in Rissani, a historic desert town where traditional markets still reflect its rich trading heritage. Continue through small desert communities toward Tinghir and the spectacular Todra Gorge.
Walk between towering canyon walls where the Todra River has carved its way through the mountains over countless years.
After lunch, continue through the Dades Valley, famous for its rugged rock formations, kasbahs, and dramatic mountain roads.
The scenery changes once again as you approach Ouarzazate, often known as Morocco’s gateway to the desert and cinema capital.
Enjoy a relaxing evening after a beautiful day on the road.
Overnight in Ouarzazate.
Your final day brings together history, landscapes, and traditional Moroccan craftsmanship.
Begin around Ouarzazate before continuing to the legendary Ait Ben Haddou, a fortified ksar built from earth and clay. Walk through its narrow passages and climb higher for impressive views across the surrounding valley.
The journey then turns west toward Taznakht, an area renowned for traditional Moroccan carpets and weaving.
Continue through Taliouine, a region famous for saffron cultivation, before traveling through the changing landscapes of southern Morocco toward Agadir.
By the time you return to the Atlantic coast, you will have crossed mountains, ancient cities, green valleys, Roman ruins, Berber villages, and the golden Sahara.
Your 10-day Agadir Desert Tour comes to an end, but the landscapes, people, sunsets, and experiences of Morocco will remain part of your story long after the journey is over.
