Itinerary

Day 1:Day 1: Casablanca – Your Moroccan Story Begins

Your Moroccan adventure begins when you arrive in Casablanca.

Your private driver will meet you at the airport or your hotel and welcome you to Morocco. Before heading deeper into the country, you will have time to discover the character of Morocco’s largest city.

Your first major stop is the magnificent Hassan II Mosque, standing proudly beside the Atlantic Ocean. Its location, architecture, and enormous prayer hall make it one of the most memorable sights in Casablanca.

After lunch, continue through the city to Mohammed V Square, the famous Rick’s Café, and the Corniche, where the ocean becomes part of the city’s atmosphere.

As evening arrives, settle into your Casablanca hotel and rest. Tomorrow, the road leads north.

Overnight: Casablanca

Day 2:Casablanca – Rabat – Chefchaouen | From the Coast to the Blue City

After breakfast, leave Casablanca behind and follow the Atlantic coast toward Rabat, Morocco’s capital and one of its historic imperial cities.

The first chapter of the day takes you through Rabat’s landmarks. Visit the impressive Hassan Tower, the Mausoleum of Mohammed V, and the atmospheric Kasbah of the Oudayas, where whitewashed walls meet views of the river and Atlantic Ocean.

After lunch, the scenery begins to change.

You leave the coast and travel through the Moroccan countryside toward the Rif Mountains. Eventually, blue walls begin to appear between the mountains.

You have reached Chefchaouen.

Known for its blue-painted streets, artistic atmosphere, and mountain setting, Chefchaouen feels completely different from Casablanca and Rabat. Take time to wander through its narrow alleys, discover small shops and hidden corners, and simply enjoy the slower rhythm of the Blue City.

Overnight: Chefchaouen

Day 3:Chefchaouen – Volubilis – Meknes – Fes | Into Morocco's Ancient Past

Wake up in the peaceful surroundings of Chefchaouen and enjoy some free time to explore its famous blue streets before continuing south.

The next destination takes you far back in time: Volubilis.

Among rolling Moroccan countryside, the remains of this ancient Roman city reveal another layer of Morocco’s history. Walk among its ruins and admire the surviving mosaics, columns, and archaeological remains.

Leaving Volubilis behind, the road leads to Meknes, one of Morocco’s historic imperial cities, where grand gates, royal monuments, and centuries of history await.

Here, discover Bab Mansour, the former royal stables, Sahrij Souani, the granary, and the Moulay Ismail Mausoleum. The city tells the story of Sultan Moulay Ismail and the powerful dynasty that shaped this part of Morocco.

Later in the afternoon, continue toward Fes.

As the day comes to an end, check into your traditional riad and prepare for tomorrow’s journey into Morocco’s cultural heart.

Overnight: Fes

Day 4:Discover Fes | A Journey Through the Cultural Heart of Morocco

Today, there is no need to rush.

After breakfast, meet your local guide for a full-day exploration of Fes, one of Morocco’s most fascinating historic cities.

Begin with panoramic views of the old city before visiting the Royal Palace Gate, the historic Jewish Quarter, and Borj Sud. From the viewpoints above the city, you can appreciate just how vast the ancient Medina is.

Then step inside the world of traditional Moroccan craftsmanship.

Visit a ceramic workshop before entering the UNESCO-listed Fes Medina on foot. With your local guide, walk through its maze of narrow streets and discover historic landmarks including Al Attarine Madrasa, Al Quaraouiyine Mosque and University, and the famous Chouara Tanneries.

The Medina is not simply a place to visit. It is a living part of Fes, where craftsmen, shopkeepers, families, and centuries-old traditions continue to share the same streets.

Return to your riad in the afternoon and enjoy some time to relax.

Overnight: Fes

Day 5:Fes – Ifrane – Ziz Valley – Merzouga | Crossing the Atlas Mountains

Today, the landscape changes dramatically.

Leave Fes and travel south toward the Middle Atlas Mountains. Your first stop is Ifrane, a mountain town famous for its European-style architecture and cool climate.

Continue toward the Cedar Forest of Azrou, where Barbary macaques can often be spotted among the trees.

After lunch in Midelt, the journey continues toward the desert.

Gradually, the landscape becomes drier and more dramatic. The road follows the Ziz Valley, where green palm groves and oasis villages appear against the surrounding rocky scenery.

By late afternoon, you reach Merzouga.

And then comes one of the moments that makes this Morocco itinerary unforgettable.

Leave the vehicle behind and climb onto a camel for a ride through the golden Sahara dunes. As the sun begins to fall, the desert changes color around you.

Reach your luxury desert camp, enjoy a traditional dinner, listen to Berber music around the campfire, and look upward at a sky filled with stars.

Tonight, the Sahara is your home.

Overnight: Luxury desert camp in Merzouga

Day 6:Merzouga – Rissani – Erfoud – Todra Gorge – Dades Valley | From Desert to Canyon

Wake early if you can.

The sunrise over the Sahara is worth the early start. Watch the first light spread across the dunes before enjoying breakfast at camp.

Return to Merzouga by camel and continue toward Rissani, the historic heart of the Tafilalet region. Its traditional souk offers a glimpse into Morocco’s trading culture and everyday life.

Continue to Erfoud, famous for its fossil products and workshops, before following the road through palm-filled villages and oasis landscapes.

Then the mountains rise again.

You arrive at Todra Gorge, where enormous canyon walls tower above the river below. Take time to walk through the gorge and appreciate the scale of the landscape.

After lunch and some free time, continue toward the Dades Valley.

Along the way, stop at the famous Monkey Fingers rock formations and enjoy panoramic views across the valley.

As evening approaches, settle into your hotel for dinner and a well-earned rest.

Overnight: Dades Valley

Day 7:From the Dades Valley to Marrakech | Roses, Kasbahs & Cinematic Landscapes

Your final full day on the road takes you through some of southern Morocco’s most cinematic landscapes.

Leave the Dades Valley and travel through Kalaat M’Gouna, the heart of Morocco’s Rose Valley. Depending on the season, the region is filled with the fragrance and products of locally grown roses.

Continue through the palm groves of Skoura, where ancient kasbahs rise from the oasis landscape.

The road then brings you to Ouarzazate, often known as the gateway to the Sahara and southern Morocco.

From here, continue to one of the country’s most famous historic villages: Ait Ben Haddou.

This ancient earthen ksar, recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, rises dramatically from the landscape. Its fortified buildings and winding passages have also made it a popular filming location.

Take your time walking through the kasbah and discovering its different viewpoints.

Later, continue toward Marrakech.

After days of mountains, desert, valleys, and kasbahs, the atmosphere changes once again as you approach the Red City.

Overnight: Marrakech

Day 8:Marrakech – Casablanca | The Journey Comes Full Circle

Your Moroccan journey is coming to an end.

After breakfast, leave Marrakech and begin the journey back toward Casablanca. Enjoy the changing landscapes along the road and take in the final views of the Moroccan countryside.

Upon arrival in Casablanca, your private driver will transfer you to Casablanca Airport or your preferred drop-off point.

Eight days ago, you arrived beside the Atlantic with a country waiting to be discovered.

Now you leave having crossed Morocco from its Atlantic coast to the Sahara, from ancient Roman ruins to imperial cities, from blue mountain streets to desert dunes.

Your 8 day Morocco itinerary from Casablanca ends here, but the memories travel home with you.
