Itinerary

Day 1:Agadir – Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate

Your Desert Tour from Agadir starts with an early departure from Agadir, heading inland through the fertile Souss Valley. As you leave the Atlantic breeze behind, the scenery changes from flat plains and palm groves to rolling hills.

You’ll first stop in Taroudant, a charming town with impressive red walls. Often called “Little Marrakech,” it offers a real taste of daily Moroccan life. Walk through its lively souks, watch local artisans working, and enjoy the relaxed pace of this ancient town.

Continuing east, the land becomes more dramatic as you approach Ait Ben Haddou, Morocco’s most famous fortress village. This UNESCO World Heritage Site stands strong from the desert, with its earth-toned towers and narrow streets that hold centuries of history. Take time to explore the tight alleys and climb to the top for amazing views of the valley.

By late afternoon, you’ll arrive in Ouarzazate, often called the “Hollywood of Morocco.” Known for its film studios and desert setting, the city mixes storybook history with rich traditional architecture. Arrive at your hotel and enjoy a relaxing evening.

Day 2:Ouarzazate – Dades Gorge – Tinghir – Merzouga

The journey continues through southern Morocco’s fascinating landscapes. You’ll travel along the famous Road of a Thousand Kasbahs, passing palm trees and small Berber villages.

You’ll arrive at Dades Gorge, where winding roads cut through red rock formations. Stop at scenic viewpoints to take in the amazing “Monkey Fingers” rock formations and enjoy photos of the valley below.

Next, you’ll head to Todra Gorge, one of Morocco’s most impressive natural wonders. Towering limestone cliffs rise high above a narrow canyon, creating a stunning setting for a short walk along the river. The cool shade and peaceful air make for a great break before heading toward the desert.

As you near Merzouga, the landscape opens into vast desert plains. Once there, you’ll meet your camel caravan and start a peaceful ride across the golden sands of Erg Chebbi. The dunes glow in shades of orange and gold as the sun slowly sets.

At the luxury desert camp, enjoy a traditional Moroccan meal with live Berber music around a campfire. The silence of the Sahara and the brilliance of the stars create a magical atmosphere you won’t forget.

Day 3:Merzouga – Rissani – Agdiz – Agadir

As the first light illuminates the sand, the desert reveals its soft curves and peaceful stillness. After breakfast at the camp, return by camel or 4×4 to meet your driver and begin the journey back toward Agadir. Pass through Rissani, a historic trading town known for its traditional market and desert heritage.

As your 3 Days Sahara Desert Tour from Agadir continues, travel through Alnif and Agdiz, where rugged mountain landscapes contrast beautifully with lush palm oases. The road winds through the spectacular Draa Valley, one of Morocco’s longest and most picturesque valleys, lined with thousands of date palms, traditional Berber villages, and centuries-old kasbahs that reflect the region’s rich caravan history.

A stop in Taznakht offers insight into local Berber craftsmanship, particularly its famous handwoven carpets. As the journey continues westward, the scenery gradually shifts once again toward the Atlantic region. By evening, arrive back in Agadir, carrying unforgettable memories of Morocco’s desert landscapes, cultural treasures, and Sahara magic.
