Itinerary

Day 1:Agadir – Taroudant – Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate

Your 3 days desert tour from Agadir begins in the morning as your private driver picks you up from your accommodation. Leaving Agadir behind, you travel inland through the fertile Souss Valley, where palm trees, farmland, and distant mountains gradually replace the Atlantic landscape.

Your first stop is Taroudant, a charming walled town often known as “Little Marrakech.” Instead of simply passing through, take some time to experience its authentic atmosphere. Walk beside the historic red walls, explore the lively souks, and see local artisans at work.

From Taroudant, the road continues toward the High Atlas Mountains. The scenery becomes more dramatic as you approach Ait Ben Haddou, one of Morocco’s most remarkable historic sites.

Built from traditional earthen architecture, this ancient fortified village seems to rise naturally from the desert landscape. Walk through its narrow alleys, discover its old kasbahs, and climb toward the higher viewpoints for beautiful views across the surrounding valley.

After exploring Ait Ben Haddou, continue to Ouarzazate, known as the gateway to the Sahara and famous for its film studios. After checking into your hotel, enjoy a relaxing evening and prepare for the next stage of your Moroccan adventure.

Overnight: Ouarzazate

Day 2:Ouarzazate – Dades Gorge – Todra Gorge – Merzouga

Wake up ready for one of the most scenic days of your Agadir to Merzouga desert tour.

After breakfast, follow the famous Road of a Thousand Kasbahs, where fortified villages, palm-filled valleys, and traditional Berber settlements appear along the route.

The landscape soon leads you toward the Dades Valley and its spectacular gorge. Here, enormous red rock formations rise from the valley, creating a dramatic contrast with the green oasis below. Stop at scenic viewpoints and admire the famous “Monkey Fingers” rock formations before continuing your journey.

Your next major stop is Todra Gorge. Towering limestone cliffs surround the narrow canyon, creating one of the most impressive natural landscapes in southern Morocco. Take a short walk through the gorge, breathe in the fresh mountain air, and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere before continuing toward the Sahara.

As the afternoon progresses, the landscape begins to change again. Mountains and valleys gradually give way to wide desert plains.

Then, almost suddenly, the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi appear.

At Merzouga, meet your camel caravan and begin your ride across the Sahara. Slowly crossing the golden dunes as the sun sinks toward the horizon is one of those moments that feels completely removed from everyday life.

At your luxury desert camp, enjoy a traditional Moroccan dinner accompanied by Berber music around the campfire. Later, step outside and look up at the enormous desert sky, where thousands of stars shine above the quiet dunes.

Overnight: Luxury Sahara Desert Camp

Day 3:Merzouga – Rissani – Alnif – Draa Valley – Agadir

Your final morning begins quietly in the Sahara. Wake early if you wish to watch the sunrise paint the dunes with soft golden colors before enjoying breakfast at camp.

After breakfast, return to Merzouga by camel or 4×4 and meet your driver for the long but beautiful journey back toward Agadir.

Your route takes you through Rissani, an ancient trading town with strong links to the history of the Sahara. If the market is open, you can experience the lively atmosphere and discover traditional products from the surrounding desert communities.

Continue through Alnif and toward Agdz, where the landscape changes once again. Mountains rise around lush palm oases, and the famous Draa Valley stretches through the desert like a green ribbon.

The Draa Valley is famous for its thousands of date palms, traditional villages, and ancient kasbahs. The contrast between the dry mountains and the green oasis makes this part of the journey especially memorable.

Later, stop in Taznakht, a town well known for its traditional Berber carpet craftsmanship. It is a wonderful opportunity to see another side of Moroccan culture before continuing west.

As the journey continues, the landscapes slowly transform once again. The desert fades behind you, the mountains become more distant, and the atmosphere of the Atlantic region returns.

By evening, you arrive back in Agadir, bringing your 3 days desert tour from Agadir to an end.

You leave the Sahara behind, but the memories remain: ancient kasbahs, dramatic gorges, endless palm oases, golden dunes, camel rides, desert sunsets, and nights beneath the stars.
