Imagine beginning your journey in the ancient streets of Fes, following mountain roads through the Middle Atlas, watching the Sahara turn golden at sunset, and sleeping beneath a sky filled with stars.
Our 11 Days Morocco Tour from Fes is designed as a journey through the many sides of Morocco. From historic medinas and Roman ruins to Berber villages, dramatic gorges, desert dunes, and Atlantic cities, each day brings a different landscape and a new story.
You’ll travel privately with a local driver, explore Fes and Marrakech with local guides, spend a night in the Sahara, and discover some of Morocco’s most memorable places at a comfortable pace.
Your 11 days Morocco tour from Fes begins when you arrive at Fes-Saïss Airport.
Your driver will welcome you and take you into the heart of Fes, where your traditional riad awaits inside or near the historic medina. After settling in, you can slow down and enjoy your first taste of Moroccan hospitality.
If your flight arrives early enough, take a gentle walk through the surrounding streets. The sounds, colors, and architecture of Fes will give you your first glimpse of the adventure ahead.
Tonight, relax in the peaceful courtyard of your riad and prepare for the journey.
Overnight: Fes
After breakfast, your local guide will lead you into the fascinating world of Fes el-Bali, one of the largest and best-preserved medieval medinas in the world.
As you walk through its maze of narrow streets, everyday Moroccan life unfolds around you. Craftsmen work in small workshops, merchants fill the souks with colorful products, and the scent of spices travels through the old lanes.
You’ll discover the impressive Bab Boujloud (Blue Gate), the Royal Palace gates, Bou Inania Madrasa, Al Quaraouiyine, and the traditional tanneries where leather is still processed using methods passed down through generations.
Later, head to a panoramic viewpoint overlooking the city. From above, the enormous medina stretches across the landscape, revealing just how much history is hidden within its walls.
The afternoon is yours. Explore the souks, shop for Moroccan handicrafts, or simply enjoy a mint tea while watching life pass by.
Overnight: Fes
Today, your Morocco tour from Fes leaves the ancient medina behind and heads toward the Sahara.
The road climbs into the Middle Atlas Mountains, where the landscape becomes greener and cooler. Your first stop is Ifrane, a unique mountain town known for its European-style architecture and peaceful atmosphere.
Continue toward Azrou and its famous cedar forests. Keep your eyes open for the Barbary macaques that live among the trees.
After lunch in Midelt, the scenery changes again. Mountains give way to dry valleys as you enter the spectacular Ziz Valley. Thousands of palm trees form a green ribbon beneath the surrounding cliffs.
As the afternoon progresses, the first golden dunes of the Sahara appear.
By the end of the day, you arrive in Merzouga, at the gateway to the Erg Chebbi desert.
Overnight: Merzouga
Today is all about experiencing the Sahara beyond simply seeing it.
After breakfast, your private 4×4 excursion takes you deeper into the desert. You’ll visit a nomadic family and share traditional tea while learning about their way of life in this remote environment.
Continue to Khamlia, a village famous for Gnawa music. Here, you can listen to the powerful rhythms of this traditional music and learn about its African roots.
Later, return toward the dunes as the afternoon light begins to soften.
Your camels will be waiting.
Climb onto your camel and slowly cross the golden sands of Erg Chebbi. As the sun begins to disappear behind the dunes, the desert changes color around you.
After sunset, continue to your private desert camp.
Dinner is served beneath the stars, followed by music around the fire and stories shared under one of Morocco’s clearest night skies.
Overnight: Luxury Sahara desert camp
Wake early if you can. Sunrise in the Sahara is worth the early start.
Watch the first light spread across the dunes before enjoying breakfast at the camp. Then continue your journey toward Rissani, one of the region’s most authentic market towns.
From there, travel to Erfoud, famous for its fossils and distinctive stone workshops.
The landscape continues to change as you approach Tinghir and the spectacular Todra Gorge. Towering canyon walls rise dramatically on both sides, creating one of the most impressive natural landscapes in southern Morocco.
Take time to walk along the gorge and enjoy the atmosphere before continuing toward the Dades Valley.
By evening, you’ll arrive in the Valley of a Thousand Kasbahs, surrounded by rugged mountains and traditional villages.
Overnight: Dades Valley
Your journey continues along Morocco’s famous Road of a Thousand Kasbahs.
Travel through the Rose Valley, where the landscape comes alive with rose fields during the flowering season, before reaching the green oasis of Skoura.
Continue to Ouarzazate, often called the gateway to the Sahara. Stop to admire Taourirt Kasbah before continuing toward one of Morocco’s most recognizable historic sites.
At Ait Ben Haddou, walk through the ancient fortified ksar, climbing between its earthen buildings and narrow passages. The spectacular setting has made it a favorite location for international film and television productions.
After lunch, the road climbs once again as you cross the High Atlas Mountains through the winding Tizi n’Tichka Pass.
Then, gradually, the landscape opens and you descend toward Marrakech.
Overnight: Marrakech
Today, a local guide introduces you to the colors, sounds, and history of Marrakech.
Begin with some of the city’s most important landmarks, including Bahia Palace, the Saadian Tombs, and the iconic Koutoubia Mosque.
Then enter the souks, where small shops overflow with leather goods, carpets, lanterns, spices, and handmade Moroccan crafts.
After exploring the historic heart of Marrakech, visit a beautiful botanical garden and enjoy a slower afternoon.
As evening arrives, make your way toward Jemaa el-Fna Square.
The atmosphere changes as the sun goes down. Musicians, performers, food stalls, storytellers, and locals fill the square, creating one of the most unforgettable scenes in Morocco.
Overnight: Marrakech
Leave Marrakech behind and head north toward Morocco’s Atlantic coast.
Your first major stop is Casablanca, Morocco’s largest city and economic center.
Here, visit the magnificent Hassan II Mosque, dramatically positioned beside the Atlantic Ocean. Its architecture and location make it one of the country’s most impressive landmarks.
Continue to Rabat, Morocco’s capital city.
Explore the Kasbah of the Udayas, overlooking the Atlantic, before visiting the Hassan Tower and the Mausoleum of Mohammed V.
Rabat offers a different side of Morocco—calmer, elegant, and deeply connected to the country’s modern history.
Overnight: Rabat
Today takes you into the Rif Mountains and toward one of Morocco’s most photographed towns: Chefchaouen.
As you approach the mountains, the scenery becomes greener and more dramatic.
In the afternoon, explore Chefchaouen on foot. Its blue-painted walls, small stairways, peaceful squares, and artisan workshops make wandering through the old medina an experience in itself.
Visit Outa el Hammam, the town’s main square, and take your time discovering hidden corners and local shops.
As evening approaches, the mountain light creates an entirely different atmosphere across the blue streets.
Overnight: Chefchaouen
Your final full day takes you back through some of Morocco’s ancient history.
Leave Chefchaouen and travel toward Volubilis, where the remains of Roman North Africa stretch across the countryside.
Walk among ancient columns, stone foundations, and remarkably preserved mosaics while imagining the life that once existed here nearly two thousand years ago.
Continue to Meknes, one of Morocco’s historic imperial cities.
Explore Bab Mansour, Lahdim Square, and the royal granaries before continuing toward Fes.
By the evening, you’ll return to the city where your Moroccan adventure began.
Overnight: Fes
After breakfast, your private driver will transfer you to Fes-Saïss Airport according to your flight schedule.
Your 11 days Morocco tour from Fes comes to an end, but the memories travel home with you—from the winding streets of Fes and the blue alleys of Chefchaouen to the silence of the Sahara and the warmth of Moroccan hospitality.
